Freight Tools Built for Real Shipments
Calculate volume, dimensional weight, freight density, estimated LTL class, pallet utilization and container capacity from one fast, mobile-friendly dashboard.
Interactive Logistics Calculators
Use these planning tools before requesting a carrier rate. Final charges remain subject to carrier tariffs, NMFC rules, accessorials and account-specific pricing.
Universal Unit Converter
Convert length, weight, volume and temperature.
Volume / CBM Calculator
Calculate total cubic volume for multiple cartons or pallets.
Dimensional Weight
Compare actual and dimensional weight using a carrier divisor.
Freight Class Estimator
Estimate density-based LTL class. Confirm the commodity NMFC item before rating.
Density Calculator
Calculate pounds per cubic foot for LTL planning.
Pallet Calculator
Estimate cartons per layer and cartons per pallet using a simple non-rotated layout.
Cartons per Pallet
Quick calculation when cartons per layer and layers are already known.
Container Capacity
Estimate how many identical cartons fit by volume. Real loading may be lower.
Density-Based Freight Class Guide
Density is one factor in freight classification. Handling, stowability, liability and the assigned NMFC commodity item can change the official class.
| Density lb/ft³ | Estimated Class | Density lb/ft³ | Estimated Class |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50+ | 50 | 9-10.49 | 100 |
| 35-49.99 | 55 | 8-8.99 | 110 |
| 30-34.99 | 60 | 7-7.99 | 125 |
| 22.5-29.99 | 65 | 6-6.99 | 150 |
| 15-22.49 | 70 | 5-5.99 | 175 |
| 13.5-14.99 | 77.5 | 4-4.99 | 200 |
| 12-13.49 | 85 | 3-3.99 | 250 |
| 10.5-11.99 | 92.5 | 2-2.99 | 300 |
| 1-1.99 | 400 | Under 1 | 500 |
Shipping Guides & References
Incoterms 2020
Use Incoterms to identify delivery point, cost responsibility and transfer of risk. Confirm the exact named place in the sales contract.
Transit Time Planning
Allow time for pickup, terminal handling, linehaul, customs clearance, appointment delivery and possible inspections.
Packaging Guidance
Use outside dimensions, include pallet overhang and protect corners, voids and fragile surfaces for the selected mode.
Air vs. Ocean
Air freight favors speed and lower-volume urgent cargo. Ocean freight favors larger volumes where transit time is less critical.
LTL vs. FTL
LTL shares trailer capacity and may involve terminal transfers. FTL dedicates the trailer and generally reduces handling.
Cross Dock Planning
Provide arrival windows, piece counts, dimensions, outbound instructions and exception contacts before the truck reaches the dock.

Resource Center FAQs
Are these official carrier quotes?
No. They are planning tools. Final charges depend on carrier rules, tariffs, account pricing, accessorials and shipment conditions.
Should I include the pallet in my dimensions?
Yes. Use the maximum outside dimensions of the complete handling unit, including pallet, overhang and packaging.
Does density always determine freight class?
No. Official classification may also consider handling, stowability, liability and the assigned NMFC commodity item.
Which dimensional divisor should I use?
Use the divisor published for the specific carrier, account and service. Common examples are 139 and 166.
Are container-capacity results guaranteed?
No. Actual loading depends on carton orientation, mixed cargo, weight limits, blocking, bracing and operational clearance.
